Inventory Management
Rental Inventory Availability Management Guide
Manage rental inventory as date availability—not only stock counts. Cover conflicts, colour/size, photos, washing, related orders, and utilization of pieces already booked.
Stock count says you have three pastel lehengas. Availability says two are booked across next weekend’s peak overlap and one is In washing. That is the only number that matters when a customer asks “do you have something for the 22nd?”
Stop managing stock counts alone
- Date conflicts beat quantity math
- Colour and size filters find the right variant fast
- Photos prevent the wrong hanger leaving the shop
- Related orders show active bookings on a SKU
- Washing status protects the next booking
- Inventory utilization starts with seeing what is already committed
Tradock-supported workflow
- Build catalog masters: categories, types, colours, sizes.
- Add products with item code, rent, deposit, stock, photos.
- Before confirm: Availability Check or Availability by Date.
- On product detail: review Related orders.
- After return: send to washing; mark Washed & ready before promising again.
- Import remaining catalog via Excel when migrating off registers.
Ask date first
Every enquiry starts with event dates, then colour/size filters—not the other way around.
Name the SKU
Confirmations name item codes so two “maroon heavy” pieces cannot be confused.
Wash before rebook
A free calendar slot on a dirty garment is still a failed rental.
