Inventory Management
Preventing Inventory Loss in Rental Shops
Reduce lost garments and accessories with SKUs, challans, related orders, disputed returns, and role permissions.
Inventory loss in rental is rarely a dramatic theft story. It is a slow leak: untracked accessories, overdue returns nobody chased, and pieces deactivated from memory instead of from a record.
The business problem
Every missing dupatta or blouse is direct cost plus an unavailable SKU for future rent. Loss also looks like “we thought we had three maroon lehengas” when stock qty was never true.
Why shops struggle
- No item code on hangers—staff describe pieces by vibe
- Dispatch without challan for multi-item sets
- Late returns linger without a Disputed list owner
- Shared logins—nobody accountable for stock edits
Traditional approach
Blame the last person who touched the rack. Occasional “full shop search” weekends that find nothing lasting.
Better loss-prevention process
- Give every rentable unit a stable item code and photo.
- Issue delivery challan listing what left with the customer.
- Chase overdue returns from Summary → Disputed daily in season.
- Settle deposits with holds when parts are missing—money pressure finds accessories.
- Reconcile stock qty when pieces are sold (Sales) or soft-deleted/deactivated.
- Use role permissions so catalog and payment edits are limited.
How Tradock reduces loss risk
Tradock item codes, photos, Related orders, delivery challans, Summary → Disputed, deposit hold on incomplete returns, sales stock awareness, soft-delete/activate for products, and role-based access all shrink the fog where loss hides. It will not scan barcodes or run utilization analytics—those are not the product. It will keep a shared, searchable truth of what exists and who has it.
