Inventory Management
Inventory Audit Checklist for Rental Shops
A practical audit checklist: SKUs, photos, stock qty, washing, related orders, and disputed returns—not a warehouse fantasy.
An inventory audit in a rental shop is not counting every sequin for GST theatre. It is verifying that system identity matches hanger reality—and that open bookings and washing states explain what is missing from the rack.
The business problem
Without periodic audits, catalogs rot: duplicate SKUs, dead photos, wrong sizes, and stock qty fiction. Peak season then runs on lies.
Why shops struggle
- Audits postponed until “after season” (never)
- Counting pieces without reconciling Related orders
- No owner for fixing mismatches found
