How to Manage a Lehenga Rental Business
Lehenga rental playbook: availability by color/size, multi-date bookings, alteration flags, deposits, washing buffers and Saturday Summary.
A heavy bridal lehenga is not “stock.” It is a date-bound asset. Promise it for two receptions without a cleaning window and you will invent a crisis. Managing a lehenga rental business means treating every SKU as a calendar problem first.
The business problem
Premium pieces collide on wedding weekends. Accessories (blouse, dupatta, can-can, belt) leave in incomplete sets. Deposits are large enough that a vague refund starts a fight. Staff turnover erases who last promised the wine lehenga.
Why lehenga shops struggle
- Customers ask by color and size (“maroon, M, 19th”) while the diary is sorted by bride name
- Sangeet and reception on different days become two disconnected notebook entries
- Alterations finish late because nobody owns the Alteration needed list
- Pieces return Sunday night and get rebooked Monday morning while still In washing
Traditional approach
Hanger tags, WhatsApp photos, and the owner’s memory. It works until peak season adds a second counter. Then the same lehenga is “confirmed” twice before lunch.
Better lehenga process
- Catalog every piece with category, type, color, size, photos, rent and default deposit.
- On inquiry, run Availability Check by product/date—or by date+category when they browse.
- Book one order; use sub-orders when sangeet and reception need different dispatch/return windows.
- Flag Alteration needed; watch Summary → Alterations until ready_to_dispatch.
- Collect rent and deposit separately; share rental invoice on WhatsApp.
- Dispatch with challan listing the set; move status to dispatched.
- On return, settle deposit (full return or partial hold); send to washing; complete only when money and garment path are clear.
How Tradock fits lehenga ops
Tradock Availability Check (product or date+category), Orders with sub-orders, Alteration needed + Summary tabs, deposit/payment tracking, washing board, invoices/challans/WhatsApp, and product related orders give lehenga counters a shared calendar truth—not another photo album.
